The Alpengasthof am Großen Ahornboden looks back on a long history. It recently celebrated its 115th anniversary. The family itself, whose family crest is over 400 years old, has always been a host family through and through. It is therefore not surprising that the two sisters Melanie Schwarzenberger and Carina Pfurtscheller-Kofler have now taken over the Alpengasthof and Naturhotel in the fourth generation and continue to run it with great joy, dedication and enthusiasm.

After attending the Villa Blanca tourism school, the two sisters gained experience abroad in the catering sector and learned new languages. Back in Austria, they jointly managed the restaurant business at the Christlum high alpine lifts in Achenkirch and were managing directors of the Segnal businesses in Außerfern for 5 years. As passionate full-blooded hosts, they are now happy to be back in the family business and to welcome their guests with a lot of heart and commitment.

"The closer the valley, the closer the people are. It is very important to us to welcome our guests as friends. Our hotel has always been known for this, and we want to keep it that way. We don't want to run a hotel that we "move out of" every evening. We live and work in our hotel, together with our staff, together with our guests.
